PROGRAMMA 2010 - XIV° EDIZIONE
Saranno ancora i temi sociali e universali come l’infanzia violata, la difesa dell’ambiente, i diritti umani e la pace, il punto di forza del TerradiSienafilmfestival.
Arrivato alla quattordicesima edizione la rassegna cinematografica senese nel 2010 si arricchisce di un’altra sezione dedicata ai corti e ai documentari. Il tradizionale concorso internazionale di lungometraggi (provenienti da : Italia, Francia ,Slovenia ,Turchia ,Svizzera , Svezia, Regno Unito Olanda , Irlanda , Spagna e Bulgaria ) selezionati da un equipe di esperti in tutta Europa , incentrati sugli argomenti sociali e civili vedrà il riconoscimento del "Sanese d’ oro "oltre il premio “ Giovani e vino” in collaborazionecon Enoteca Italiana. Il premio Music Feel andrà al vincitore scelto dal pubblico e l’ Award della critica (quest’anno intitolato intitolato al giornalista cinematografico Gregorio Napoli) sarà giudicato da quattro cineasti specializzati.
Nella sezione retrospettive il Festival ha in programma un omaggio, ad un amico e prezioso collaboratore del Terradisiena, lo sceneggiatore Piero De Bernardi , scomparso quest’ anno. Famosi personaggi del cinema parleranno del loro rapporto avuto con Piero entrando nella vita dell’ uomo e dell’ artista dalle molteplici sfaccettature. Verranno proiettati film di alcune delle sue opere più significative. A tal proposito è stato istituito quest’anno un premio per la miglior sceneggiatura a Lui intitolato. Il vincitore verrà giudicato da una commissione presieduta dalla figlia Isabella e composta da docenti e studenti dell’Università degli Studi di Siena. Piero De Bernardi, pratese, è stato uno dei maggiori sceneggiatori del cinema italiano, numerosi i suoi film che sono passati alla storia dalla fase eroica del Neorealismo fino alla Nouvelle Vague all’ italiana passando per la Commedia all’ Italiana dove è ricordato come un vero maestro nel suo campo.
Un altro omaggio, con una serata d’onore sarà per il grande Vittorio De Sica nel trentaseiesimo della sua scomparsa in collaborazione con l’ Associazione “ Amici di Vittorio De Sica “ che proporrà inedite opere restaurate a cura dell’ Associazione presieduta dal figlio Manuel.
L’ obbiettivo della rassegna cinematografica senese è quello di promuovere film indipendenti di giovani registi con proiezioni in anteprima assoluta , al fine di far conoscere la settima arte anche agli studenti , che sono coinvolti in prima persona nel Festival . La manifestazione che si tiene in autunno nella città del Palio ha l’ intento di aprire dibattiti e incontri con attori registi e produttori , proiettando film in competizione e fuori concorso anche in altri spazi, oltre lo storico cinema d’essai, “Nuovo Pendola”, come la Sala Cinema dell’Università e dell’Istituto “Duccio di Buoninsegna”, tutti nel centro storico di Siena. Aspettando il Festival sono inoltre in programma tre grandi serate - evento con star internazionali,c he presenteranno in anteprima i loro film in luoghi della terra senese: nel Chianti, nella splendida Val d'Orcia e in un borgo medievale.
Con questa importante novità Terra Di Siena da l'avvio ad un Festival itinerante tra i luoghi più belli della campagna senese da sempre set naturali del cinema.

2010 FESTIVAL PROGRAM - XIV EDITION
The main focus of the Terra di Siena Film Festival will once again be social and universal themes such as child abuse, human rights and peace.
Now at the 14th edition, the Siennese Festival will be enriched by a new section dedicated to short films and documentaries. As a tradition, international full feature movies of social interest (from Italy, France, Slovenia, Turkey, Switzerland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Holland, Ireland, Spain and Bulgaria) selected by European experts, will compete for the “Sanese d’Oro” award and also for the prize “Youth and Wine” in collaboration with Enoteca Italiana. The award “Music Feel” will go to the favorite of the audience. In addition to this four eminent movie critics will assign The Jury Award, dedicated this year to the cinema journalist Gregorio Napoli.
The retrospective section will honor Piero de Bernardi, a friend and a precious collaborator of the Terra di Siena Film Festival, who just recently passed away. Famous people of the movies’ scenario will talk about their relationship with Piero and they will explore the life of this multifaceted artist and man. There will also be showings of the most important movies which he wrote the screenplay for. Best movie screenplay (in his honor) will be a new Festival award. A committee, chaired by Piero’s daughter Isabella and composed by students and professors of the University of Siena, will be in charge of selecting the winner of this award. Piero de Bernardi was from Prato and was one of the most famous Italian screenplay writers. Many of his movies made history during the heroic Neorealistic Era and up until the Italian style Nouvelle Vague and through the Italian comedy period in which he is remembered as a true master in his field.
Furthermore, and in collaboration with the organization “Friends of Vittorio De Sica”, the great Vittorio De Sica will be honored with a special gala night for the celebration of the 36th year from his death. The organization, lead by his son Manuel, will present some restored pieces that have never been screened.
By presenting premieres, the main objective of the Film Festival is to promote young directors and independent movies, and to make the students of the University, who are personally involved in the Festival through different activities, acquainted with the seventh art. The Festival, held every year in Siena (the city of the Palio) in the Fall, has the goal to open a debate and to promote the meetings of actors, directors and producers by screening movie in competition and out of the competition in the historical cinema “d’essai” “Nuovo Pendola”, and in other spaces such us the movie theatre of the University, and the one of the “Duccio di Buoninsegna” Institute. All of these theatres are in the historical center of Siena. To warm up for the Festival there will be three great events – events with international stars and premieres of their films. These events will take place in the Chianti region, in the beautiful Val d’Orcia and in a medieval village. With this important new addition, the Terra di Siena Film Festival is starting an event that travels in the most beautiful places of the Siennese countryside, always a natural set for the cinema.
